Position Summary:
Corvus Energy is looking for a full-stack software engineer to join our Battery Management, Modeling, and Analytics group. The BMMA group is responsible for the software and hardware used to monitor and control all Corvus products, as well as upload data for data analytics. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute across the entire suite of Corvus software and firmware while implementing high value enhancements. This position is on the front line of software delivery – diagnosing, designing, and deploying improvements and bug fixes. The Software Engineer is responsible for the design and testing of software components as required for Corvus battery systems and its application in different customer installations. This position will receive functional guidance from the software team lead, and reports to the VP, BMMA for administrative matters and project deliverables.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develop software for battery management systems and related web applications, such as internal and external tools, HMI, and data analytic tools, including ownership for a variety of such tools.
- Participate in the development of software requirements, specifications, and documentation.
- Respond to internal technical enquiries and support troubleshooting / investigation of failure & bug reports.
- Plan and implement features and bug fixes.
- Responsible for unit and integration software tests.
Work Experience and Qualifications
- BASc/BSc in engineering or computer science, or engineering technologist with equivalent experience.
- 4+ years’ experience in commercial software development and test, including front end and back end.
- Experience with some or all of the following: Python, JavaScript, Linux, Ethernet stack
- The following areas of experience would be nice-to-have: battery management systems, internet protocols and interfaces, broad product/system development experience.
