Bid Management Lead
The Bid Management Lead will lead the bid process (for all standard projects using products that has passed Sales Availability (SA), from opportunity identification, Tech Sales calculating and to proposal submission. This includes timely submission of technical specifications and high-quality proposals that meet client requirements, managing the bid team in Europe and act as a functional lead for the global bid team.
Responsibilities:
· Manage the bid team in Europe and be functional lead for the global bid team in order to ensure consistency across all regions.
· Develop a 24/7 bid management support across all 3 time zones (follow-the-sun).
· Develop a better understanding of market trends and competitor activity to support our product roadmap.
· Coordinating with various teams, including sales, technical, legal and finance to ensure all aspects of a bid process are addressed according to at any time valid approval matrix.
· Route the need for Contract Committee approval to the respective Commercial Director in the respective regions.
· Ensuring that all tenders, opportunities and quotes that are handled by the bid team are kept updated weekly in our CRM system.
· Work closely with our Demand Planner to continuously improve our CRM system & data.
· Coordination and distribution of work tasks within the bid team.
· Constantly monitor the workload of all bid team members and ensure an even workload distribution.
· Establish and implement a common work task and responsibility structure for the global bid team and ensure this is adhered to.
· Train, tutor and support all global bid team members.
· Cooperate with other internal resources/teams and coordinate the execution of common work activities with these.
· Perform work tasks which naturally fall in under the responsibility of bid team.
· Be responsible for the continuous improvement of the bid process, templates, software tools used for both making technical specifications and proposals.
· Ensure that the data supplied from the local bid team to customers (internal and or external) hold the highest possible quality.
Required qualifications and skills:
· An Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma
· 5-10 years of technical and commercial experience from the maritime solutions industry
· Excellent analytical skills
· Advanced proficiency in English both verbally and written
· Excellent experience in electrical system design and system integration
· Excellent knowledge of marine power engineering
· Advanced experience in relevant programming languages
· Advanced experience from customer facing activities (B2B) is required
· Attention to detail and high accuracy in bid preparation and review
