Category Sourcing Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Category Sourcing Specialist to contribute in the development of our Supply Chain and to join our team at our headquarters in Bergen, Norway, reporting to VP Supply Chain & Logistics.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and executing category strategy and sourcing plans
- Identifying, evaluating, and building relationships with suitable supplier
- Negotiate and manage favourable agreements with suppliers
- Leading initiatives to identify and implement cost, lead time, and risk reductions in supply chain and procurement processes
- Facilitate required support to establish purchase and vendor approval of items in suppliers’ portfolios
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
- Analyse and monitor market trends in supplier industries
- Working with other departments to align sourcing strategies with business objectives
Education and work experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related fields. Relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal education
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within supplier management and strategic sourcing
- Experience in an electrical/mechanical high-volume manufacturing sourcing environment is a plus
Functional skills:
- Experienced with supply chain development and negotiation of supplier agreements in an international environment
- Experienced in dealing with international outsource partners/contract manufacturers
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools
- Experience with supplier auditing and quality evaluation is an advantage
- Fluent in English
Behavioral skills:
- Enjoy negotiation, problem
solving and a good written contract
- Appreciate the importance
of knowledge sharing and supporting team members
- Highly organized with tenacious attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize in a hectic environment
